Anonymous, 1:44 AM: I think Boko Haram has gone beyond the level of what community policing can solve. Community policing could have nipped Boko Haram in the bud, but Boko Haram has metamorphosed into some thing much bigger.

Boko Haram is many things - an ideology, a religious movement, a platform for the weakest members of society to tweak the noses of the most powerful, an Islamist terrorist organisation.

Boko Haram's appeal to the unemployed youth of Northern Nigeria is difficult to resist - and community policing will not remove it.
