The March today...

A friend went along to the mother's march against the aviation industry (mentioned in my last post) this morning. Apparently the police were ready in waiting. Mothers from the elite didnt have time to gather before tear gas was being sprayed. Democracy and freedom of association remains a distant mirage in this country..

Is it true that Nigeria is a democratic nation? I doubt it bcos the President's name is actually General Olusegun Obasanjo - is 'General' a civilian? Certainly not. What he knows best is military dictatorship. I keep praying that Nigeria should have a true democracy in the nearest future.

I've just heard the news about the teargassing myself.

Only in Nigeria would they teargas grieving mothers.
