The Seek Project

I've often thought that Nigeria lacks decent graffiti. I even emailed Banksy to invite him over a year or so ago - I had an idea he could do some 'capacity building'. I didn't get a reply. It was not meant to be.

Its lovely to find out that there some kids who are doing it already in their own way - check the Seek Project here. Thanks to Ebun Olatoye's 2020 blog for the alert. Love the Rebel Bride design by Earthtones at the top of your blog Ebun. Tunde looks mean and moody!

Banksy, like many of the so-called modern artists (Damien Hirst and Tracy Emin partcularly come to mind) - is completely overrated.

Call it what you want, but Nigeria has tons of street art... great stuff at that. As with all good graffiti, you have to know where to look.

re grafitti: Your comment has an air of eurocentricity to it. Invite bansky - for what?! It's kinda hard for the common man to buy paints and risk imprisonment when he can barely even put food on the table.
