Traditional hausa huts, Kano State

Emm...they look more like granaries to me; for storing grain.

Actually, they resemble the traditional Somali Mudul (not Aqal of the Nomads) but appears to be smaller in size. Also, these huts seem raised off the ground while the Mudul is not. Here is what Mudul looks like-> ttp://buurhakaba.com/mudul-buur.bmp

Yeah, these are graineries, called rumbuna (pl), rumbu (sing).
