Another blog to watch

This will be interesting. Tune in to the unfolding tale of our friend T, as he and his family move back to the mother country from blighty in the next few months. This man suffers fools not. And his wife knows how to use a gun. He has a vision of a new Nigeria that he is going to be part of. The naijablogosphere is starting to rock..

I admire his courage and will learn from his blog. My oko went back this year ahead of us and I think we handled it badly. He's having to relocate again but hopefully we'll learn from our mistakes and make a better plan next time; and yes, there will be.

To my dear...perhaps it may have been better to use the word "husband" instead of the chosen...It did give me a good laugh though!:-)) lol

However more to the point...I am in constant thought about relocating..Especially since my sister and her husband made the leap a couple of years back...The thought becomes even more prevelent when things aren't going so well with ,my career in London. there's the continuous encouragement/reminder from my sis, her husband, and firends regarding the array of opportunities available to someone with my skills, experience, gusto and personality. I get excited, and even make some enquiries regarding relocation....BUT!...Alas!...I then wake up and face reality. And the reality is the grass is not greener..In fact its never greener its more what i would call a verigeted leaf! Relocation to Nigeria is filled with all sorts of shades of the green and as such its doesn't just require courage, but more a very high dose of passion for Nigeria!!!

The reality is that YOU must WANT to be there. A friend (before she relocated) once said to, "If you move to Nigeria, then you mustn't travel out of Nigeria within the first year (unless its work)". The idea is that you need that year to acclimatise and get really engrosed in the system. Although she didn't manage to practice it herself, i think its sound advice.

In the meantime, I continue to dream, plan, and make slow but steady preparation for when the oppotunity comes!!!
